The air cleaner has the air intake line connected to a cyclo dust collector. An hv generator applies a high voltage to an electrostatic filter. A return-flow stop valve (10) is located in the intake line (11) and opens a switch (9) when it closes. The switch disables the hv generator (7). The stop valve and the switch are sited on the inside wall of the dust collector. The switch is a microswitch. The stop valve is a flap-type valve and has a specified design. The advantage of the device lies in eliminating the risk of an explosion when the engine ignites at the wrong moment and the mixed fuel gas passes from the carburettor near the distributor back via the intake line to the electrostatic filter.
