Sliding shaft support in unstable rock carrying water - has successive sections with intermediate bases and lubricant backfilling

One sliding layer, at least, is provided between rock and final support lining, during introduction of a sliding shaft support into frozen shafts for sinking into unstable rock with water content. The final support system is inserted in sections. Intermediate bases are made after sections of prescribed depth, and the section concerned is temporarily set on top, and backfilled with lubricant forming a sliding layer section. On attaining final depth and construction of all bases, sections and final base, support sections are successively separated from intermediate bases, and interconnected and set on each other and on the final base, forming a closed support tube. Sliding sections are then interconnected, to form a closed sliding joint.
