Biological ioniser with particle outlet on housing top - uses housing of low height w.r.t. horizontal dimensions, with control elements on housing top

The housing of the bio-ioniser is a structure, whose height is very small in comparison to its horizontal dimension. The outlet aperture for the ionised particles is at the housing top, where actuating elements for the control of the ionisation are also arranged. On this housing top is pref. provided a display for changing alphanumeric symbols. This display is located behind the particle outlet aperture for oblique observation and reading of the symbols. Typically the housing top comprises a region inclined to the horizontal, in which the display is also located. Horizontal sections of the housing top may comprise the actuating element for controlling the ionisation process and/or an information signal generator, these elements being possibly in the form of push-botton. The display containing region is pref. inclined at 60 deg. to the horizontal.
