Demountable expansion vessel for heating circuit - has pipe coupling and flange clamp mountings to support frame

The expansion vessel consists of a pressed steel container made from two identical halves and assembled with an intermediate membrane sandwiched between to form two separate compartments. One compartment is filled with an inert gas and the other attached to the circuit of a central heating system. The expansion vessel is mounted in a frame (6) by the use of clamp-like clips (4) which grip the flange formed by the joint between the two halves. The water connection (3) has an internal 'O' ring seal which forms a water-tight joint with the inlet elbow (17). The elbow also has a flange (18) with a sealing gasket (19). The inlet connection is fixed to the frame cross member. The weight of the vessel aids the maintenance of ta seal at the water connection.
