Endless drive cable for chair-lift - has fast and slow cables with chair switch between them made by scissor clamps actuated roller ramp and rocking lever

The motorised endless cable drives a chair-lift and provides parallel slow (8) and fast (1) cables at a station. Different effective dias. of the winding drum provide the speed differential, and chair suspensions use inversely actuated scissor grabs (6,7) to make the switch from one cable to the other (8). The suspension uses an horizontal axle (4) which cantilevers from a support plate (21) to locate a chair head bracket (3), the axle also locating a rocking lever (9) with a roller (23,24) on each end. A spring (27) forces the head of lever in, thus, forcing one of the rollers (23) into the tail (19) of the scissors grab (6) which grips the fast cable. The switch is effected when a roller (29) mounts the station ramps (R), causing rollers (23,24) to move out of and into scissor grabs (6,7) respectively.
