PURPOSE:To attain high contrast and high sharpness by adding dihydroxybenzene and specified 2 kinds of 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidones to a hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:To a silver halide emulsion layer and/or a hydrophilic colloidal layer permeable to water through the emulsion layer are combinedly added at least 1 kind of dihydroxybenzene compound as a developing agent and >=0.1g/m<2> in total of 1-phenyl-4-substituted-3-pyrazolidone and 1-phenyl-4-unsubstituted-3-pyrazolidone (the latter is <=1/3 time as much as the former by wt%). The 4-substituted-3-pyrazolidone includes 1-phenyl-4-methyl-3-pyrazolidone and 1-phenyl-4-methyl-4-hydroxymethyl-3-pyrazolidone. |
