Bookend arrangement (10; 110) for holding, in a manner secure against accidents, a row of books (12) placed vertically next to one another. The bookend arrangement has two bookends (14; 114) supporting in each case one of the books (12) arranged at the two ends of the row of books. The bookends are rigidly connected to each other by a cross tie (16; 116) in such a manner that the row of books held between them can be moved as a whole. The inherently rigid cross tie (16; 116) can be designed, or arranged on one of the bookends, in such a manner that the spacing between the bookends can be changed to match rows of books of different lengths. <IMAGE> |
