A travelling ships unloader has a portal frame which is movable longitudinally on rails and carries a horizontal jib (1). In order to enable a boat or ship to be unloaded without moving the boat or ship, and also in order to have a few transfers of material from one conveyor to another, a number of bucket conveyors (2) are mounted on the jib (1) for pivotal motion at transverse pivot axis (3). Each bucket conveyor (2) is curved downwards so that it can reach vertically downwards. The discharged end of each bucket conveyor (2) is directly above the jib (1), and is above a conveyor belt (4) which runs transversely along the jib (1). The conveyor belt (4) directly receives material discharged by gravity from the bucket conveyors (2). The whole of each bucket conveyor (2) can be moved transversely along the jib (1) for reaching the whole of the hatch width of the ship. <IMAGE> |
