The compounds of formula (I); <CHEM> and salts thereof; wherein R<1> is hydrogen or methyl; R<2> is hydrogen or methyl; R<3> is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, trifluoromethyl or C1-6 alkyl; n is 1 or 2; X is C1-6 straight or branched alkylene; and R<4> is C1-6 alkoxy, hydroxy or amino optionally substituted with one or more lower alkyl groups, A is hydrogen, bromine, chlorine, or fluorine, have been found to possess anti-obesity and/or anti-hyperglycaemic activity.
