Monoazo dyes (I; X=Cl, Br, I; Y=H, methyl; R1=H, methyl, ethyl; R2,R3=methyl, ethyl) were prepd. by diazotizing II and coupling with III. Thus, 3.0 g 2-amino-6-bromobenzothiazole was dissolved in 80 g 50 %-H2SO4 at 80≦̸C, and diazotized with nitrosylsulfuric acid, followed by coupling with 4.2g 3-acetyl-N,N-bis-β-acetoxyethylaniline at 0-3≦̸C fir 5 for to give 5.8g monoazo dyes.
