PURPOSE:To obtain constant detected output without the effect of the relative moving speed of a scale and a detecting device in a magnetic or static position detecting system, by using the detecting device which faces the scale and has a high frequency resonating circuit. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic scale 2 has a magnetic layer 21 on a substrate 22. The magnetic layer 21 is magnetized in correspondence with a specified graduation. The magnetic detecting device is arranged at the position facing said magnetic scale 2. The magnetic detecting device is constituted by the high frequency resonating circuit 3, a high frequency oscillator 3, and a detecting circuit 5. When the magnetic scale 2 moves, the output of the resonating circuit 3 which is coupled with the oscillator 4 is varied. Said variation is taken out of the detecting circuit 5. Thus the output corresponding to the graduation of the magnetic scale 2 can be obtained. |
