Closure and method for closing the filling line of a metal oxide/hydrogen cell

Metal oxide/hydrogen cells are operated at a pressure of up to 40 bar and the hydrogen pressure during filling of the cell is up to 10 bar. The permanent, hydrogen-proof closure of the filling line is associated with difficulties. A closure which is simple to produce and is absolutely proof against hydrogen, as well as a method for closing the filling line are specified, in the case of which method the end of the filling line is crushed (pinched, crimped), that is to say it is closed with a pinched welding point, and the pinched welding point (2) is reinforced with a soldered-on cap (4). Soft solder (3) is suitable for use as the solder.
