The process is characterised in that the feedstock (plastics, rubber etc.) is treated before the pyrolysis, preferably at an elevated temperature, with one or more liquid hydrocarbons (for example pyrolysis oil, partially hydrogenated aromatics etc.) or immersed therein. This leads to subsequent shortening of the pyrolysis time, at elevated temperature (100 DEG C) to a reduction of the water content in the condensate, and to an increase in the yield of liquid pyrolysis products. In practice, the process can be combined with any pyrolysis process, that is to say it can also be retrofitted.
