PURPOSE:An anti-inflamatroy analgesic poultice that is prepared by piling the active layers composed of an anti-inflammatory analgesic and a adhesive base material in multilayers on the support tha is made by inserting a water-insoluble, water-adsorbing resin layer between two sheets of the base cloth in a sandwich, thus improving cool sense effect and increasing remedial effect. CONSTITUTION:For example, (A) a water-soluble monomer and/or monomer which becomes soluble in water by hydrolysis, (B) starch and/or cellulose and/or (C) a crosslinking agent are used as essential components to effect polymerization, when necessary, followed by hydrolysis to give a water-insoluble, water- absorbing resin of starch-polyacrylic acid copolymer. Then, the polymer layer 3 is sandwiched with two sheets of base cloth such as cotton to prepare the support 4. An anti-inflammatory analgesic containing salicylic acid, menthol and/or compher and an adhesive base material are used to prepare an active mixture and the mixture is piled on the support in multilayer 5 to give the objective polultice showing anti-inflammatory analgesic activity and giving cool sense effect satisfactorily for hours, because of its high water retention. |
