The small containers (e.g. honey jars) which are commercially available nowadays do not provide any possibility of setting down the removal implement (spoon) between the individual removal operations in such a way that the removal implement does not drop into the container and sink therein, or that the product removed (honey) does not drip down the outside of the container from the removal implement and soil said container. According to the invention, a remedy is provided for this deficiency in that a rest is provided for the removal implement on the upper inner edge of the container (Figure 1 No. 4). The same benefit can also be achieved by a correspondingly shaped, spring-mounted clip with a corresponding recess. It is inserted in the upper container edge. The main field of application are food containers for liquid to semi-solid mixtures, such as honey and jam, or for solid items, such as gherkins, pieces of fish and the like located in a liquid. Usually ordinary coffee or tea spoons, forks or picks are used as cutlery items for removal. In comparison with conventional containers the technical and economic outlay required for this additional rest is insignificant, set against its usefulness. <IMAGE>
