The supporting structure for a vacuum insulating container is made of insulating material designed for a minimum transfer of heat by conduction. The structure is made entirely of strip members on edge with an upper layer (A) made of longitudinal strips, a middle layer (B) made of lateral strips and a bottom layer (C) made of longitudinal strips which are offset from the upper strips. The middle strips are notched along top and bottom edges so that the longitudinal strips can interlock with them. A second design consists of an upper rectangular grid resting on a lower rectangular grid with all the strips offset. A further design consists of three grids forming three tiers or layers.
|
