PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which can achieve any of, favorably all of high luminous efficiency, inhibition of the occurrence of luminance unevenness or color unevenness and high output emission even when a large-area light emitting device is mounted.SOLUTION: A light emitting device of the present embodiment includes: a light permeable member having a surface serving as a light emitting face of the light emitting device and an acceptance surface; a light emitting element equipped with a translucent substrate having an emission surface linked to the acceptance surface and a surface opposite to the emission surface, where a semiconductor element structure is provided; and a coating member which contains light reflective material and covers a lateral face of the light emitting element with the light emitting face being exposed and a part of the light permeable member extended from the lateral face. The light emitting element has on a surface of the translucent substrate, isolation parts and a plurality of luminous structure parts provided in respective regions of the semiconductor structure which are isolated from each other by the isolation parts. The coating member covers the isolation parts and the luminous structures adjacent to the isolation parts and has a light reflection part on a surface on the coating side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
