<p>A heat sealing apparatus comprises a roller (3) mounted for rotation about its longitudinal axis (A-A), a heat sealing means (14) mounted for rotation and in use defining a circular path for movement which is eccentric to the path of movement of the periphery of the roller (3), and means (2, 4) for moving a web (6) of plastics material. In use, the heat sealing means (14) is adapted for periodic movement interposed between the roller (3) and the web (6) and has no substantial relative velocity relative to either the web (6) or the roller (3) to thereby seal the web (6).</p> |
