<p>A process for the operation of a tank aeration installation having two aeration tanks, an initial drip-feed unit and a final clarification tank is improved by having the drip-feed unit adapted as a high-load unit with a space load in the range 2 to 12 kg/BOD5/m<3>. day, preferably around 5 kg BOD5/m<3>. day, and is so operated. The sewage input from the high-load drip-feed unit so operated to the aeration tanks is increased to a rate at least 1.5 times greater than the rate applied to conventional tank aeration installations.</p> |
