The linkage controls the relative movements of the doors of wagon hoppers, including a master door (3 or 5) and a connected door (4 or 6). All pivot on the wagon frame. The edge of the connected door, when closed, goes over the edge of the master door. The linkage works by rods (15,16) which synchronise the door movements. There are also sets of cranks (87,88) pivoted on the ends of a balancer/reversing arm (89), which is itself pivoted on an axis (90) fixed to the wagon frame. The cranks are pivoted directly on the master doors.
|
