The loading truck provided with a drum-type conveying device serves for introducing into the interior of the truck the stalk and/or leaf material picked up from the ground by a pick-up device. An angular gear (9), connected to a central shaft (3) by means of a chain (11) and the like, serves for driving the loading mechanism. The central shaft (3) controls the movement of the tines (5) of the conveying device which are arranged on shafts. In order to make this conveying device light and design it without any disturbing lateral drive parts, the chain wheel (8) is arranged approximately in the middle of the drum between the bearing plates (17b) and the tines (5) and is provided with recesses as supporting bearings for the tine shafts. The stresses on the drive shaft (3) and on the tine shaft (4) are thereby reduced. <IMAGE>
