摘要 Such an engine comprises a main combustion chamber and a precombustion chamber, in which a spark plug and a precombustion chamber injection nozzle are arranged, it being possible to switch the precombustion injection nozzle on and off as a function of the load and to influence its injection quantity as a function of the load, and an intake pipe injection nozzle which is switched from an approximately middle partial load range up to the full load range and the injection quantity of which can also be influenced as a function of the load. In order to improve the exhaust gas emission whilst taking account of the efficiency of the internal combustion engine, the precombustion injection nozzle is switched from idling up to an approximately middle partial load range and fuel is injected, over this entire operating range, into the precombustion chamber, the quantity being influenced by the precombustion injection nozzle as a function of the load, and the fuel-air ratio being correspondingly regulated from idling up to the full load range.
