A fire alarm device for a storage room, especially a silo (12), comprises alarm units (M) each having an ionisation fire detector (D), a fan (V1) and an inlet section (19) extending downwards and provided with inlet orifices (29). The fans (V1) of the alarm units convey air out of the storage room (12) and through the ionisation fire detectors (D) in order to monitor the interior of the storage room (12). On the other hand, during operation of a pneumatic conveyor (16) allocated to the storage room, the fans (V1) of the alarm units (M) are driven in the opposite direction in order to prevent accumulation of dust on the ionisation fire detectors (D), and air is blown in the opposite direction into the interior of the storage room by a powerful additional fan (V2; V3). <IMAGE>
