The invention relates to a profiled strip which has a surface intended for sealing with respect to a moving part. During the closing and sealing of a window pane in a motor vehicle, said pane is usually guided into a window channel (5). In this case, the window pane lies in a sealing manner against a profiled strip. To reduce the frictional forces during the closing operation which occurr tangentially with respect to the surface of the profiled strip and to eliminate unwelcome deformations which may lead to loss of tightness, there are provided on the surface of the profiled strip linings (12A, 14A and 16A) of polymeric material which has a small coefficient of friction. Similar linings can also be used for sealing a door opening. <IMAGE>
