The invention relates to a transport track (11) with a support rail (27) in which transport trains (19) are guided and driven by drive means (18). The transport trains (19) are formed by three train units (21) which are connected to one another in an articulated manner and each of which has a conveyor element (26) which is guided in the support rail (27) and a transport device connected to said element. The drive means (18) are fixedly arranged at intervals along the transport track (11) and act on the respective conveyor element (26), the greatest distance between two adjacent drive means (18) being at most equal to the length of the shortest transport train (19). <IMAGE>
