The invention relates to a veneer press having at least two pressing frames movable relative to one another and forming between them a pressing space for receiving at least one workpiece. It is distinguished in that the pressing space is connected to each pressing frame by a membrane forming a flexible wall, in that the at least two pressing frames bear against one another in a sealed manner when the pressing space is closed, and in that at least one connection, which opens out in the pressing space and is connected to a vacuum pump, is provided on at least one of the pressing frames. <IMAGE>
