Side walls are formed (Figure 1; plan view) from bearing profiles with an E-shaped (1) or a TET-shaped (2) cross-section and side wall boards (6), on which side walls slots (20), bounded by projections (12) of the outer webs of the bearing profiles, are formed between the board and the outer web for receiving shelves with a projecting side bracket. A very sturdy first shelf compartment is produced from two side walls and shelves and, if appropriate, an inserted rear wall board (8) without any means of attachment, such as screws etc., to which shelf compartment side compartments can be joined in analogous assembly. Provided for the arrangement of doors at the front are door hinges (4) which are adapted to the system and, after insertion of their leaf (10) in one slot (20), are suspended by means of the slots (21) on a projection (12). The hinges (4) can be used both for a right-hand and for a left-hand door fitting. <IMAGE>
