The subject of the invention is a system which automatically removes dust which settles in pipelines which serve to transport dust-containing gases such as illustrated in Fig. 1. For this purpose, on the lower part of the pipeline (1) openings (2) are provided through which the dust falls into funnel-shaped containers (3) which are welded gas-tightly onto the pipe. Through a collecting pipe (5) which is connected to a blower (9) by means of controlled shut-off valves (4), the dust is sucked in from the containers (3). The shut-off valves (4) are successively opened in each case for only one container (3) so that the dust can be extracted by the blower (9) at full power. The sucked-in dust is separated from the conveying air by a preseparating cyclone (7) and an end filter (8), as a result of which only pure air is extracted. This process can be controlled automatically. <IMAGE>
