PURPOSE:To provide a compact ignition system in a contactless ignition system for an internal-combustion engine by short-circuiting a capacitor charging coil through a short-circuiting semiconductor switch 4 to charge a igniting capacitor with high voltage produced by such short-circuit. CONSTITUTION:A capaciter charging coil 3 is provided on both ends with shortcircuiting semiconductor switches 12. When a shortcircuiting semiconductor switching element is shut off, an igniting capacitor is charged by high voltage induced by a capacitor charging coil 3. Also, at the same time, a constant circuit in an ignition signal generating circuit is operated. Thus, the capacitor charging coil does not need both windings for high and low speeds so that a compact ignition system can be provided. |
