PURPOSE:To prevent any oscillations of the picture of a color picture tube by specifying, among a shadow-mask supporting structure, a bimetal installed between a holder and a mask frame or a piece installed between the bimetal and the frame. CONSTITUTION:A shadow-mask supporting structure 1 is supported and fixed through at least a holder 5 and a bimetal 6 which are connected to a panel pin 4. Investigation was made on the bimetal 6 which has the simplest shape and the most complicated function of thermal correction among the supporting structure 1. As a result, even when the thickness of the bimetal 6 was increased, a small increase of the operational length of the bimetal 6 was enough, and almost no alterations in the design of the other elements of the system were needed. According to the above result, in this invention, the thickness (x) of the bimetal 6 is set to satisfy the equation. As a result, any oscillations of the picture screen of a color picture tube can be prevented by effectively absorbing vibration. |
