The outrigger reduces the capsizing couple of a sailing craft, the hull of which can leave the water. The craft has a hull (2) a sail (8) and a keel (1). The keel centre of thrust is established at a point removed from the hull longitudinal axis. The keel has a float (3) with its axis parallel to that of the hull, and is connected by two parallel lines (6,7) to form a pivoted parallelogram. The plane of the keel is maintained at a constant inclination relative to the water surface. The lines are perpendicular to this plane.
