<p>The printed circuit assembly consists of two shaped boards, at least one of which is flexible. Each board carries tracks and components belonging to a single automobile circuit, for example in switching circuits associated with lights and incidators. The boards are of complementary shape and layout. The larger 'mother' board is provided with slits which have adjacent metallic pads for solder connection. Metallised flaps on the flexible complementary board are aligned with and fit into the slits and fold over to make an electrical connection. The circuit layout on the flexible complementary board has a track which runs parallel to a corresponding track on the mother board. When the two boards are connected, the electrical contact between the tracks reduces the resistance of either of them used individually.</p> |
