PURPOSE:A grease compsn. excellent in oxidation stability and having excellent performance for a rolling friction driving device, which is prepd. by using as the base oil a specified naphthenic hydrocarbon oil having three hydrogenated six-membered carbocyclic rings. CONSTITUTION:The titled grease compsn. is constituted of a consistency increasing agent such as calcium soap and a base oil of pour pt. <=0 deg.C, aniline pt. >=70 deg.C and traction factor >=0.08, substantially consisting of at least one 19-30C naphthenic hydrocarbon of formulaI(wherein R<1> is 1-3C alkylene; R<3-5> is 1-3C alkyl; l, m and n are each 0-3; x is 0 or 1) having three hydrogenated six-membered carbocyclic rings. The compd. of formulaIincludes those of formulas II and III. A pref. example of a compd. of the formula II is hydrogenated benzyltoluene and one of a compd. of the formula III is hydrogenated benzylbiphenyl. |
