1. Thermoplastic composition which can be crosslinked by heat, which leads to a system which is not heat reversible, which consists of a mixture of ; (1) at least one olefinic polymer carrying hydroxyl groups, which contains from 0.02 OH group to 1 OH group per 100 g of polymer and of which the melt index according to the ASTM standard D1238 lies between 0.05 and 1,000 g/10 min, at 190 degrees C for a load of 2.16 kg ; (2) at least one polyanhydride compound which is partially or totally incompatible with the said polymer when the latter is in a molten state and (3) product resulting from the partial reaction of (1) with (2) the molar ratio between the anhydride and the OH being 1 when the hydroxylated polymer contains less than 0.1 OH/100 g whereas it is less than 1 when the polymer contains quantities of OH groups greater than 0.1 OH/100 g, and the said composition having a gel content, corresponding to the content of benzene-insolubles, of between 2 and 50 % and preferably between 20 and 40 %.
