Clamping connection for channel section segments

The channel section segments forming a roadway support arch are placed one inside the other in such a way that they overlap at the ends and are fastened to one another by clamping connections. The clamping connections consist of stirrup straps on the rock side and the roadway side as well as of screw bolts with nuts. At least two clamping connections are provided at a distance from one another for each overlapping area. In the known case, the stirrup straps, on account of their friction contact with the channel section segments, are canted towards one another during relative movements of the channel section segments and the screw bolts are consequently exposed via long lever arms to high tensile stresses which can result in a loss of the pretension when the relative movements cease. The invention provides for spacers (11) to be incorporated between the section flanges (8, 9) of the channel section segments (1, 2). With driving wings (15), the spacers (11) enclose the screw bolts (25) in a fork-like manner approximately in the centre longitudinal area. In this way, the lever arm acting on the screw bolts (25) is shortened at least by half so that the canting of the straps (26, 27) occurring during relative movements of the channel section segments (1, 2) can no longer cause any high tensile stresses in the screw bolts (25). The pretension of the screw bolts (25) is maintained. <IMAGE>
