METHOD FOR WET COMBUSTION OF ORGANIC MATERIAL

Method of directly in water combusting dissolved or finely dispersed organic material by means of molecular oxygen under elevated pressure and at a temperature varying between 180 and 340C. The combustion takes place in at least two steps, of which in a first step the combustion is driven as far as to set free up to 90 % of the combustion heat of the organic material. In a second step organic material more insensitive against oxidation and residual in the water is combusted in the presence of a large surplus of molecular oxygen, and steam-gas mixture effluent from this second step is fed to the first step either alone or after addition of further molecular oxygen, so that the content of molecular oxygen in the steam-gas mixture is sufficient for performing the combustion of incoming organic material in said step to the aforestated degree of combustion.
