<p>Freeze crystallization subassembly (12, 66, 112) having means (23, 72, 126) for continuously removing crystals formed on a heat transfer surface (16, 74, 129) from the surface (16, 74, 129). A scraper shuttle (23, 72, 126) is moved across the heat transfer surface (16, 74, 129) by a fluid being refrigerated to remove crystals from the surface (16, 74, 129). The crystals are carried to a mixer (14, 114) where they are mixed with incoming feed (11, 111) until a circulating slurry is produced. Means (13, 113) is provided to remove slurry from the mixer (14, 114).</p> |
