PURPOSE:To record and output image and character information, by forming a facsimile picture signal with a character code generated from a data processor (character code output device), composing the picture signal and the picture read from an original. CONSTITUTION:A reader 25 has a mechanism carrying the original PP and a picture reader such as line sensor arranged at a right angle to the carrying direction, the direction of the arrangement of the line sensor is taken as a main scanning direction and a serial signal from the line sensor is outputted. A data processing section 24 performs the processing of compression and equal sign for each scanning picture signal in order outputted from a character generator 23 and the reader 25 and supplies it to a line control section 28 when a receiver is connected via a line L, and supplies each scanning picture signal directly to a recording section 27 and reproduces the picture on recording paper when the line L is not connected. Thus, the picture supplied from a personal computer 1 and that read from the reader 25 are composed and recorded on the recording paper. |
