<p>The invention relates to picture restoring devices for high-definition television systems, in which the vertical scanning of an image is "wavy" that is to say oscillates on either side of each line with a low amplitude and a frequency much higher than the line scan frequency FL and in which the horizontal restoring scan is "linear", but of frequency 2FL, so that each line scanned is restored through a pair of lines. A picture restoring device comprises a frame-change device (70) permitting the restoring of both lines of each pair, whilst attributing one of these lines to a first frame and whilst attributing the other to a second frame, both restored lines being furthermore immediately adjacent in the restored image.
