A method of joining two ends (9, 10) of a cupped belt is described, in which an additional tape part (8) of smaller tape thickness than the belts used is attached to both belt ends (9, 10) such that a joint results which, when the belt has been joined, has the same structure as the original cupped belt (1) and whose strength is so great that the joint withstands both the loading of the belt with electrical components and the unloading of the belts without damage. The method according to the invention is suitable for combining ends of cupped belts which serve for binding electrical components, such as diodes, transistors, in particular in SOT 23 housings and IC's. <IMAGE>
