A housing for a plug or plug socket which can be inserted into a container wall and has recesses which pass through the housing wall at right angles to the plugging-in direction. The sealing of the housing to the interior of the container is achieved by means of a bell which covers the recesses and is attached to the housing by means of two closed welding seams between which the recesses are located. <IMAGE>
