In a magazine (1) having compartments (5) for microfilm cassettes (2), the compartments (5) of said magazine being formed at least by compartment wall attachments (4) arranged on the magazine side walls, an indicating means is to be provided for a cassette (2) removed from a compartment (5) in order to facilitate re-finding the compartment in order to replace the removed cassette (2). For this purpose, the invention provides that each compartment (5) is assigned an indicating element (10) which is subject to the action of a spring (11) and has a continuation (10c) which is arranged in the path in which a cassette (2) is introduced into the respective compartment (5), with the result that, on introducing a cassette (2) into the assigned compartment (5), the indicating element (10) can move, under the tension of the spring (11), out of an indicating or visible region. <IMAGE>
