SLIDING CLASP FASTNER WITH SEPARABLE BOTTOM STOP

A sliding clasp closure for knitted goods has warp knitted support ribbons each comprising a pair of strips sepd. by a stitchless region where a joining yarn connects the columns of stitches in both strips. A reinforcing element at the endstop of the fastener reinforces and protects the stitchless region against tearing while submitted to the frequent tensions accompanying the opening and closing of the closure. The closure may be fitted to a knitted product without becoming puckered or folded. A separably closure is provided which may open and close easily without tearing. The closure may be knitted in during production of knitted goods.
