The invention relates to a device making it possible to use the windows of shops and the glass surfaces of buildings for decorative purposes, when they are unoccupied without impairing visibility during the hours when they are occupied. It is constituted by two superimposed parallelepipedal casings 1 and 2 each containing a light source 3 and linked together by two identical lateral strips 4 one end of which is fixed to the lower casing 2 and the other to a winding axis 5 actuated by an electric motor 6 with remote control or a programmer 7, placed in the upper casing 1. In the lower casing 2 and on each side of the light source 3 are longitudinally placed two integrated spring winding axes 8 of the "SNCF blind" type, one receiving a sheet of metallised plastic 9 forming a reflector, the other a sheet of paper, textile or plastic 10 bearing the decorative motif. The two sheets 9 and 10 are fixed by their upper edge to each side of the upper casing 1 in such a way that winding and unwinding of them accompany the corresponding movements of the lower casing 2 which is suspended horizontally by the two lateral strips 4 actuated by their motors 6 with remote control or a programmer 7 controlling their winding on their two respective axes 5. <IMAGE>
