Process for the preparation of a germicidal and surface-anaesthetic medicinal composition, in particular for the treatment of skin, mucous membrane injuries and/or infections of every aetiology. Medicinal compositions of this type are intended for use by the patient in the simplest way without the slightest demands. This is achieved in this case by mixing a polyvinylpyrrolidone-iodine complex with a local anaesthetic, and both can be processed to an aqueous solution, to a gel form or to an ointment.
