PURPOSE:To easily remove chips from a press die especially by forming by pre-working a notch by which an edge-cut finishing allowance becomes small, on a corner part of a U-chaped projecting end part, and thereafter, executing the edge-cut finishing. CONSTITUTION:An unnecessary part 13 of a hoop material 1 is removed by the first process, and a rough shape body 14 of a lead terminal 3 is formed. In this regard, the rough shape body 14 is opposed to the tip adjacent corner part of a lead terminal contact part 4, and forms a pair of recessed parts (notch) 15. Subsequently, soak-working is performed to the tip part of the rough shape body 14 by the second process, and a wedge-like flat part 16 is formed. Subsequently, an unnecessary part 17 and 12 for forming a contact part 4 and a lapping part 6 are edge-cut by the third process, and the terminal 3 connected to a connecting material 2 is completed. Subsequently, as for the unnecessary part 17, a pair of parallel parts 17' are opened easily from the recessed part 16 and become like an opened leg, as shown by an alternate long and two short dashes in the figure. Accordingly, the part 17 is not clogged in a die of the edge-cut die whose skirt is expanded in the width direction of the terminal 3 but drops downward from the die, or is removed to the outside of the die together with absorption of air. |
