In order to prevent possible slippage of a slotted washer from the shank of a fastening screw, with which a luminaire housing is to be fastened to a ceiling or the like, one or two integrally formed elements are provided on the washer, which project into the slot or into the corresponding lead-in track, extending parallel to the slot, of the screw shank, and are sprung essentially transverse to the slot or to the track. At the end side, the washer arms bounding the slot are preferably squared off approximately at a right angle with respect to the plane of the washer, there being formed on these segments lugs which are sprung at an oblique angle with respect to the edges bounding the slot and project into the lead-in track of the screw shank. A gripping element is integrally formed on the washer opposite the sprung elements.
