To obtain high-quality top soil, garden and other organic waste is collected and piled up (compost heap). After approximately a year, the decomposition is extensively complete. This soil must then be sieved and mixed with peat. This manual process is automated with the invention. A conventional conical drum upper part from a concrete or mortar mixer is separated into the container part and the screwing ring (fastening flange). On both sides, a bead is rolled in. At 90 DEG separations, a 400 mm long stay is in each case welded in (see Fig. 2), which reconnects the two parts. The intermediate space created then has a sieve mat laid around it, which is fixed in the beads with a wire stretcher. With the finished device, garden soil of desired fineness and quality can now be produced, as the peat to be mixed in can also be put into the drum. <IMAGE>
