PURPOSE:To obtain an abnormal temp. detector which is inexpensive and is easy to install by such construction wherein a thermocouple circuit is provided along a cable and the thermoelectromotive force or thermoelectric current generated in said circuit is detected. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple circuit 2 is formed on a ''Constantan '' conductor 3, a copper conductor 4 and plural lead wires 5 consisting of copper wires disposed in parallel is formed along a cable 1 and a temperature measuring junction 6 is formed in the juncture between each wire 5 and the conductor 3. The ends of the conductor 3 and the conductor 4 are directly joined and a reference junction 7 is formed. A fire alarm device 8 is connected in parallel to the conductor 3 and the conductor 4 near the reference juncture. For example, if a fire breaks out near the point A, the temp. at the point 6 near said point rises and thermoelectromotive force is generated in the circuit 2 and the alarm device 8 is operated by said force.
