PURPOSE:To enhance color developing density and to reduce deterioration of sensitivity, occurrence of fog and stains due to storage by using a specified aromatic primary amine for the precursor of a developing agent. CONSTITUTION:The aromatic primary amine is represented by the formula in which R<1>, R<2> are each 1-5C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; 2-10C alkoxyalkyl or alkylsulfonamidoalkyl; R<3> is H or 1-5C alkyl or alkoxy; X is a group releasable by H or alkali; Y is -(C=O)- or -(SO2)-; and Z is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or heterocyclic. Such compds. has highly excellent performance as the precursor of a color developing agent.
